Hearing Solutions is an independent hearing aid practice. What that means is we're not affiliated with any particular hearing aid company. We don't have to worry about selling a particular brand or meeting sales numbers. Instead, our only concern is what's best for you, our patient.
We have a reputation for being helpful, honest, and trustworthy. You won't ever have to worry about pushy salespeople or confusing explanations. Our job is to help you, not to sell hearing aids.
There are seven manufacturers that continually develop new hearing technology. We work with all of them, and they all have their own individual strengths. We'll look at your particular hearing needs and use that to decide which hearing aid brand has the best technology for you.
We have demo units in stock for each company, and we will gladly fit you with a pair of demo hearing aids so you can have a trial fitting and see what you think. If you've enjoyed a certain hearing aid brand in the past, let us know and we will try to keep you in familiar territory.
The most important factor in determining which hearing aids you should get is the technology inside. Hearing aids come at different price points based on their level of technology. The more advanced the technology, the better the hearing aids perform in noisy environments. Since the vast majority of people who come to get a hearing test are trying to find a solution for understanding speech in noise, this is what we focus on addressing with hearing aids.
We tend to recommend that you get the most advanced technology you can afford. Better technology does tend to lead to better outcomes. However, we also offer inexpensive models depending on your budget. We aim to find a balance between what you need and what you can afford.
The right hearing aids can be a matter of personal taste. All of the hearing aids we carry are excellent devices, but that doesn't mean they're all a good fit for each person. We will keep trying until we've fit you with the hearing aids that make you happy.
No matter who comes through our door, we want to be able to help you. Over the years we've brought in more equipment and expanded our experience so that we can serve patients with hearing aids from all manufacturers. We consider this being a good custodian of people's health in our community. We take our responsibility to the community seriously. It may be a little extra work on our part, but it's absolutely worth it.
Depending on your hearing loss and your personal preferences, you may choose from a number of different hearing aid styles, including in-the-ear (ITE), in-the-canal (ITC), invisible-in-canal (IIC), completely-in-canal (CIC), behind-the-ear (BTE), and receiver-in-canal (RIC).
Of these, we most commonly fit patients with over-the-ear hearing aids, predominantly receiver-in-canal (RIC) hearing aids. These devices have superior technology and are a comfortable fit. However, if you have significant hearing loss in the lower frequencies, we will often need to add a custom-fit earmold that helps with noise management. The combination of RIC and custom-fit mold leads to the best results for many patients.
